Summer 2007

As always, Katrilli has been busy with many annual festivities during the summer.

We began June with two performances in Children’s museum at Seattle Center.  The program was so well received, that we were offered many new opportunities for future.

We have been part of Astoria Scandinavian midsummer festival for many years.  This year was no exception.  It has become a tradition to meet behind the beer garden, do a final run through of the dances and have our picnic with a spread fit to a king. - Along with two Katrilli performances,  we had a chance to enjoy other groups and catch up with old acquaintances.

Next was a Skandia Folkdance Society’s midsummer festival in Kenmore.  Usually this event ends our performance season for the summer.

We would like to express our thanks to most talented musicians Pat Spaeth, Phil and Birgit Ages and Chris Luquette, who have added another dimension to our performances throughout the year.

At this writing, many of us are already in Europe.  Some are participating in Kaustinen Folkdance and Music festival, others are touring Scandinavia and some are on performance tour in Finland with Evergreen Kantele group.

We are now looking forward to Finland Summer Festival in Vasa Park on August 25th.

Our regular dance season starts again in September.  See our website http://finnsnw.com/Katrilli/index.htm for up-to-date information on rehearsal times, upcoming performances and our photo album.  Come and join the fun!
